PRODUCTION

Following exploratory meetings contracts will be signed with four department heads:

  • Director of Photography
  • Production Manager
  • Assistant Director
  • Production Designer

- all of whom must have worked on the production of feature films of the very highest quality. I will be dependent upon such expertise.

Lighting and photography must be first class, and the DP will also be charged with ensuring sound quality. 
    It's a waste of time - including writing a screenplay - if the audience cannot hear what is said! 
(Could be an actor's fault of course. This must be sorted!)

The above department heads will liase with me regarding scene location and construction, hiring crew and buying or hiring equipment, making sure that everything comes together on time and in place for each shoot. 
(If it doesn't happen there will be hell to pay!)

Two other people of vast importance will be appointed later: the Casting Director and an Executive in Charge of Production (Accountant). Quite obvious why they are critical!

One final thought. I will consult with the DP of course, but I intend that three digital cameras will be used, to provide simultaneous long and medium shots, plus close-up filmography (as required).  The choice of digital media is influenced by two factors: costs and marketing.
